EVENT
A car-theater is out in the streets of Alexandria!
VENUE
Kotsanas Museum of Ancient Greek Technology
Pindarou 6, Athens
DATE
07 - 28 May 2022
DESCRIPTION
Sound, movement and light effects follow each other and come to amaze us!
The engineers of ancient Greece invent and built the first automatic theaters. Thanks to the famous mechanical Heron, the god Dionysus is praised with an automatic show designed in his honor. Heron chose to unfold the event on a hidden wheeled mechanism. So he built a genius car which transported and “magically” enlivened the whole show.
The love of the ancient Greeks for the theater comes to life in Kotsanas Museum through an admirable technological upgrade. People, maenads, gods and technology meet in order to tell their unique stories. The Heronian Theater meets the myth and science and reveals unknown aspects of ancient Greek culture.
