DATE

DESCRIPTION
On Sunday 8 May, the author Nadia Georgakopoulou invites us to a historical and experiential journey in the first hundred years of the new Athens, to its largely forgotten and often underestimated history as the new capital.
Starting from Hadrian’s Gate, our route will stop at emblematic Athenian buildings and public spaces of the 19th century, while the narrative will focus on architecture, history, the words of the protagonists themselves, the people who inspired them, financed them, inhabited them. In the Zappeion, the National Garden, Syntagma, the Iliou Melathron, the Ophthalmology Clinic, the Catholic Church and of course the emblematic Athenian trilogy.
Looking at the past through the future.
