2023 ESO Conference for architecture and design will take place for the eleventh time in a row at Alexandra Trianti Hall, Megaron Athens Concert Hall under the general theme “Multiverse” suggesting the coexistence of multiple diverse forms of physical and artificial life.
This year’s theme, “Multiverse”, further bridges theories on the ongoing change with their first consequences on the fields of architecture, design and arts. “Multiverse” signifies a range of diverse environments, responding to human needs and moving beyond them, including other forms of physical and artificial life. “Multiverse” suggests multiple coexisting environments.
To merge the international knowledge with the local experience and to outline current issues, Chrissa Stamatopoulou (Grimshaw Archiects), Myrto Kiourti, Georges Batzios (Georges Batzios Architects), Yiorgos Tsolakis (Tsolakis Architects), George Mitroulias (AREA), Yoshiharu Tsukamoto & Momoyo Kaijima – (Atelier Bow Bow), Manuel Aires Mateus (Francisco Aires Mateus Arquitectos), Arthur Mamou Mani (Mamou-Mani Ltd Architects), Kristian Villadsen (GEHL), Georges Armaos (Gagosian, London), Iasson Tsakonas (Oliaros), Elias Messinas (Ecoweek) and Stahis Kalyvas, Political Scientist and Gladstone Professor of Government at the University of Oxford, will take up the stage of Alexandra Trianti Hall to further prompt the dialogue.
Topics will introduce various explorations on inclusivity, critical environmental issues as well new points of view about the ever-growing cities and the ever–changing countryside.
During this year’s ESO, the 5th Archisearch Lifetime Achievement Awards ceremony will highlight the work and personality of architects Kyriakos Kyriakidis, Dimitris Antonakakis and Dimitris Philippidis and Rena Papaspyrou. The awards are presented by Panos Pangalos, Associate Professor in the University of West Attica, and artist, Ilias Papailiakis.
The event is presented and moderated by Danai Makri, Head of Content of the Design Ambassador.
