DESCRIPTION
Artist Vassilis Vassilakakis presents an exhibition on the self-existence of things.
Through his new works, the artist focuses on everyday or unfamiliar objects, presenting to the viewer the humble as humble and the insignificant as insignificant. In Vassilakakis’ painting, anachoritism is understood as the possibility of reflecting on the sacred.
The artist studied Visual and Applied Arts at the School of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1988-1994) and at the School of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona (1995-1997), while his works can be found in museums and private collections in Greece and abroad. Since 2010 he has been teaching at the School of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki as an associate professor.
