DESCRIPTION
This activity is only available in the Greek language.
At the start of the 19th century, the Philhellenes emerged as an international movement of intellectuals, artists and soldiers whose love for Greece inspired them to sacrifice their lives and wealth in support of Greek independence.
We’ll discover the history of this movement, their personalities, and their cultural impact, through this spring tour in the center of Athens. Participants will travel back in time 200 years to learn about the history of Athens and the era of the Greek Revolution.
The Philhellenism Museum joins together with the City of Athens and the Athens City Festival to highlight their unique contribution and celebrate the new Monument of Philhellenes located at the War Museum.
