DESCRIPTION
From the beginnings of prehistory to the period of late antiquity, important finds reveal in their own way information about the life, habits, traditions and customs of the first societies in Greece.
The largest museum in Greece, the National Archaeological Museum, is also one of the most important in the world, providing us with a wealth of information that has come to light thanks to archaeological excavations.
On display are findings mainly from the region of Attica, brought to light by archaeologists in the 19th century, but also from other Greek regions. At the same time, visitors have the opportunity to admire many more objects from every corner of the wider ancient Greek world – even from lands far from the Greek territory – that were gradually added to the museum’s collection.
Today the museum’s collections total more than 11,000 exhibits that constitute a real revelation regarding our overall impression of ancient Greek civilization.
The event follows all required guidelines of the public health authority to prevent the spread of COVID 19.
