DESCRIPTION
The City of Athens and Outset Greece bring the famous international exhibition Seeing The Invisible for the first time to Greece, and it’s now on display at the National Garden of Athens. It’s the most ambitious and extensive exhibition of contemporary works of art ever created with the aid of Augmented Reality technology. The exhibition explores the boundaries and connections between art, technology and nature.
The works are visible only through the free app Seeing the Invisible available for mobiles and tablets – before you go, be sure to see the link below.* Visitors can explore the National Garden’s natural environment and locate thirteen (13) Augmented Reality works by famous international artists that are scattered around the historic gardens.
The exhibition is implemented in parallel with ten (10) other botanical gardens around the world. The National Garden is the only to include 14 exhibits, with the work “Nea Zoi” (New Life) commissioned from the Greek artist Lukia Alavanou.
The participating artists also include Refik Anadol, El Anatsui, Ori Gersht, Isaac Julien CBE RA, Mohammed Kazem, Sigalit Landau, Daito Manabe, Sarah Meyohas, Mel O’Callaghan, Pamela Rosenkranz, Timur Si-Qin, Jakob Kudsk Steensen, Ai Weiwei.
Seeing The Invisible exhibition is daily open to the public, and fully accessible until the end of September 2023.
