Activities for children and teenagers are free educational programs for children and teenagers give participants the opportunity to discover artworks from the Seeing the Invisible exhibition at the National Garden, in the form of a treasure hunt. Participants will use the free mobile app Seeing the Invisible to follow the map and explore works of important artists scattered in the garden.

Seeing the Invisible is a unique Art Exhibition-Experience of Augmented Reality at the National Garden of Athens. The exhibition is the most ambitious and extensive contemporary art exhibition to date, as it hosts 14 Augmented Reality works by renowned artists, which are visible only through the free Seeing the Invisible app, for mobile phones and tablets. Through the app, participants can explore the natural environment of the National Garden and locate the artworks scattered throughout its interior. The main theme of the exhibition focuses on man’s relationship with the environment, exploring the boundaries and connections between art, technology and nature. It is presented simultaneously in 10 botanical gardens worldwide and will remain open to the public until September 2023.
Below are all the steps you need to follow before arriving at the National Garden.
Step 1: Download the free Seeing the Invisible app, via App Store or Google Play on your mobile or tablet. To download the free Seeing the Invisible app, visit the following link: https://linktr.ee/seeingtheinvisiblegr Those who have devices that do not qualify* can contact us at greece@outset.org.gr to join a team (3-4 people) that will receive a tablet from the organization.
Step 2: Fully charge your device before visiting the garden
Step 3: For the app to work properly, you will be asked to access the location tracking service (GPS) and the camera on your device.
Step 4: After entering the garden connect to Wi-Fi or open your device data to properly display the report map. Once displayed, you do not need to be connected for the app to work.
It is recommended that you bring headphones as most of the artworks have associated background music.
*Device requirements: The app requires a mobile device with a minimum of 4GB of memory, and an Apple iOS 11 or Android 9.0 Pie (API 28) operating system. It is equally supported on iPads & Tablets carrying the same features.
