Art Zone 42 presents the new solo exhibition by Maria Kritikou New Realms, offering Athens’ art-loving public a distinctive and dynamic visual experience that redefines our relationship with both the natural and the imagined landscape.

The art historian Evangelia Kairaki notes, Maria Kritikou’s painting is driven by an intensely interactive and energetic relationship with the canvas, recalling the philosophy of Action Painting. The artist moves freely within an undefined and expansive space, where organic forms, aquatic worlds and dreamlike environments undergo radical transformation. Rather than pursuing a faithful representation of nature, Kritikou embraces a Taoist, almost mystical interpretation of the visible world, bringing the environment into dialogue with the inner, spiritual dimensions of human experience.
