Cooling Havens, an innovative European project of the City of Athens, invites you to an immersive walk through Ano Patisia, in one of Athens’ most vibrant neighbourhoods. Newly created cooling points serve as the starting point for rediscovering our relationship with water, public space, and the urban environment.

Exploring traces of the city’s past, contemporary infrastructure and everyday urban life, the walk highlights the role of water in shaping Athens while opening up a conversation about climate resilience and the city’s future. Blending history, environmental awareness, and urban experience, the route offers a fresh perspective on the Athenian landscape.

Cooling Havens (G.A. EUI02-098) is a European project exploring the role of water in contemporary urban design, highlighting solutions that strengthen cities’ resilience in the face of the climate crisis. Co-funded by the European Union, the project is delivered by a consortium led by the Municipality of Athens, in collaboration with ten implementation partners and three European transfer cities.
