VENUE

Omonia Square

This activity is only available in Greek.

In commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the July events (1965), a constitutional crisis that contributed to the downfall of the monarchy and set the stage for years of political instability in Greece, the City of Athens Festival invites you to join a historical walk through the heart of the city, dedicated to the struggle for democracy.

Starting in the Omonoia area—historically known as Chavteia—and ending at Syntagma Square, the walk traces Greece's post-war history, "re-reading" key landmarks such as the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Propylaea. Along the way, participants will uncover lesser-known sites where significant events of a turbulent decade took place.

A reservation is required.
