Join us for a car-free celebration! On World Car-Free Day, enjoy a vibrant 24-hour festival packed with activities. To ensure a smooth experience for all visitors, traffic regulations will be in place. Let’s make the most of this special day together!
METRO SERVICE EXTENSION
METRO Lines 1, 2, 3 will extend their service hours. On Saturday, September 21, 2024, the last train departures on Metro Lines 1, 2, and 3 will be at 2:30 am.
TEMPORARY DIVERSIONS TO BUS ROUTES
From 8 pm on September 21, 2024, until 5 am on September 23, 2024, there will be some temporary diversions to bus routes. Here’s how the affected bus routes will run:
Bus Line 227:
To Ag. Artemios: Buses will travel from Pireos Street to Omonia Square, then continue as usual.
To Petralona: Buses will turn right onto Pireos Street from Socratous Street, then continue as usual.
Bus Lines 025 & 026:
From Ippokratous Street: Buses will turn right onto Panepistimiou Street from
Omirou Street, head to Omonia Square, then turn left onto Socratous Street, right onto Pireos Street, right onto Millerou Street, and continue usual.
To Ippokratous Street: Buses will turn left onto Pireos Street from Thermopylon Street, head to Omonia Square, then to Stadiou Street, and continue as usual.
Bus Line 035:
To Tavros: Buses will turn right onto Pireos Street from Socratous Street, then continue as usual.
To Kypseli: Buses will continue straight on Pireos Street, head to Omonia Square, and then continue as usual.
Bus Line 400:
To D. Plakentias Station: Buses will continue straight on Pireos Street, head to Omonia Square, and then continue as usual.
To Piraeus: Buses will turn right onto Pireos Street from Socratous Street, and then continue as usual.
Bus Line 500:
To Kifisia: Buses will travel from Pireos Street towards Omonia Square, then continue as usual.
To Piraeus: Buses will turn right onto Pireos Street from Socratous Street, and then continue as usual.
Diverted buses will make stops at existing stops for other routes. For more details, check out the public information hotline at 11 185.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MEASURES
The Athens Traffic Police will be introducing temporary traffic measures on Athinas Street and nearby areas. From 8 pm on Saturday, 21 September 2024, until 10 pm on Sunday, 22 September 2024, there will be restrictions on vehicle traffic, stopping, and parking in the following areas:
– Athinas Street: From Evripidou to Ermou Streets, in both directions, including all side streets up to the first parallel street.
– Karageorgi Servias Street: Along its entire length.
– Perikleous Street: Along its entire length.
– Athinaidos Street: Along its entire length.
– Ag. Eirinis Street: Along its entire length.
– Ag. Asomaton Square: Between Sarri and Ermou Streets, towards Ermou Street.
– Ermou Street: From Ag. Asomaton to Athinas Streets, towards Athinas Street.
