Phoenix Athens

The Phoenix Athens space hosts Los Angeles-based artist Kristine Lippire in an exhibition that bridges the American metropolis with Athens. Centred on the Exarcheia neighbourhood, Lippire draws inspiration from the energy of youth, idealism, and graffiti as a medium of expression and claim within the urban fabric.

With concrete sculptures, paintings, and patterns influenced by the wrought-iron grilles of post-war buildings, the artist transforms architectural fragments into a new visual language. Her work is not merely an aesthetic proposal, but a profound reflection on resilience and the collective memory inscribed upon the walls and streets of our cities.

It is an invitation to view urban reality through a more human and creative lens where the blinding light meets the imperfections of everyday life.

Opening: Friday, May 8 at 19:00.

Opening hours: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 12:00–18:00; Wednesday, Saturday: 12:00–16:00. Closed on Monday & Sunday.
