a.antonopoulou.art Gallery

The a.antonopoulou.art gallery presents the new solo photography exhibition by Dr. Giannis Tzortzis, which is held under the auspices of the Embassy of Denmark in Greece. Through a “green photographic journey” carried out in August 2024, the artist captures the “barometer of global climate change”: Greenland.

The exhibition is a powerful “visual cry of anguish,” documenting UNESCO World Heritage sites at risk and the everyday life of the Indigenous Inuit people. Tzortzis’ experiential images highlight the fragile beauty of the landscape and the dramatic reality of the climate crisis, reminding us that ice takes on a deep blue color just before it disappears forever.

The exhibition is accompanied by texts by writer Maria Giannayou and academic Christos Zerefos, enriching the dialogue between art, science, and environmental awareness.

Opening: Thursday, May 7 at 19:00.
