DESCRIPTION
An exhibition of the work of the writer and artist Panos Koutroubousis will take place from May 6 to June 5, featuring a special collection of drawings, films, photographs, collages, book illustrations and other archival material.
Panos Koutroubousis, prose writer, translator and visual artist, was born in Livadia and grew up in Athens. He studied film directing in Rome and enrolled at the School of Fine Arts in Paris, but did not attend. He appeared in literature in 1958 as a representative of the Beat literary movement, with publications in the magazine “Athinaika Grammata” (Athenian Letters), Leonidas Christakis’s publications and other magazines of the time, while he also worked in the cinema as a film production assistant.
His literary work is a mixture of surrealism, folktales, fiction, comics, wordplay and beat literature, while his visual work includes illustrations for magazine covers, painted collages, photographs and constructions.
