The neoclassical Athens Trilogy

This activity is only available in the Greek language. Archaeologist Michalis Giohalas guides us through the Athenian Trilogy. The Trilogy is composed from three historic buildings: the University, Academy, and the Library. The Magnum Opus of the architects Hans Christian and Theophilus Hansen, the neoclassical buildings constitute a timeless and emblematic landmark for Athens. At the heart of the urban fabric, they are a pictorial and philological reference to ancient history and mythology that has become intertwined with the ideologies of their time. The recent past confronts deep history, reflecting the soul and ambitions of a bygone era. Meeting point: Panepistimio metro station (Panepistimiou street exit)
