O lieb, so lang du lieben kannst!

April 26, 1914: after almost 80 consecutive years of operation, the Protestant Cemetery and its monuments were transferred from the Thiseio neighborhood to create the Protestant Section of the First Athens Cemetery.

Some of the oldest works of modern Greek funerary art were present there, including monuments to intellectuals, scientists, heroes that joined the city’s large outdoor sculpture gallery to tell stories of war, love, destruction, and glory.
