DESCRIPTION

This activity is only available in the Greek language.

In an unusual tour, two archaeologists will present to the public “signed” works from the ancient and medieval collections of the Canellopoulos Museum. Visitors will see the actual signatures and learn about the named artists: when and where they lived, whether they had their own workshops, what was the cost of their works, who ordered them, and why some works are signed and others not. The tour will attempt to throw light on the people, who are often hidden behind archaeological objects.

The thematic tour will be presented by
Nikolas Papadimitriou, Director of the Canellopoulos Museum
Antonis Bekiaris, Curator at the Byzantine and Christian Museum
