DESCRIPTION
Andreas Polyzogopoulos and Maria-Christina Harper share their musical universe and inner quest, creating meditative soundscapes that transport listeners through stories. Their performance is based on the stories of Eugenia Roumelioti about the elves and fairies that appeared in her homeland many years ago.
Eugenia Roumelioti, also known as Vgeniki or Vgeno, is Andreas Polyzogopoulos’ grandmother, whom he first recorded telling stories when he was a child. He remembers his grandmother recounting the stories, sometimes by oil lamp and by candlelight, as their house had no electricity. A few years ago, armed with professional equipment, he recorded his grandmother reviving the stories by the fireplace, as told by her father and residents of their village.
